Purple potatoe is actually good. It's another kind of sweet potato. They make all kinds of stuff out of them. I love them, so I look for stuff made with them.
They're awesome baked in tin foil.
Interesting story with that.
Guys drive around in trucks, with roasting grills on the back, and they bake them in there.
They're called imo. Pronounced emo. And grilled is the word Yaki.
So these truck guys have loud speakers, and they drive around singing over the loud speaker... YYAAAKIIII IIMMMOOOO, and people come out to buy them hot off the truck.
A dying art. I think I saw one in Osaka last time I was there . I searched online to find recorded examples of this song... YYAAAKIIII iiimmoooooooo..... As it cracks me up..
