Isn't it a really active volcano? Is there honest danger to large numbers of people?

Ok, I expect dumb answers in forums like this. My mistake for being realistic. There's been no large evacuations, I know that. The lava is very slow moving. I'll bet that get all your great knowledge from YouTube videos.

"Big Island hasn't seen an explosive eruption since 1924, when eruption spewed ash 20,000 feet above sea level and 10-ton rocks into the sky, leaving one man dead. The "steam-powered eruption caused more than 50 explosions over two and a half weeks," according to National Geographic.

Scientists are starting to see similarities between Kilauea's present day behavior and that of the 1924 event. "

They're saying hundreds evacuated, but many have stayed. One guy got burned. I don't doubt the MSM is sensationalizing this to sell hair products.

The ones that stay don't last long, it's nature's
way of politely exiting the gene pool.
