For centuries, Hindu women have worn a dot on their foreheads. Most of us have naively thought this was connected with tradition or religion, but the Indian embassy in Ottawa has recently revealed the true story.

When a Hindu woman gets married, she brings a dowry into the union. On her wedding night, the husband scratches off the dot to see whether he has won a convenience store, a gas station, a donut shop, a taxi cab, or a motel in the United States. If nothing is there, he must remain in India to answer telephones and provide us with Verizon technical advice.

Hi Shibli,

I don't actually care whether or not you believe in the picture I took. I'm not a U.F.O enthusiast by the way. I spend most of my spare time studying politics. The photo is real. I took it. I was there. As I have already explained I took many shots in black and white because I liked the depth, tone and contrast that these shots bring. I studied Photography A-Level at school ten years ago and we only worked with black and white (and the occasional tone). If you would like I am more than happy to send you the subsequent shots of the day. As we progressed up the mountain pass we got into heavier snow and the photos I took in heavy snow here and all across the Himalayers are the best I took because I took them in black and white. Seriously contact me on my email or give me your email and I will be more than happy to send you a complete photographic account of this particular trip to put your mind at rest. It is a shame you cannot think out of the box and understand that some people like to be creative and artistic and not just take the typical colour shot. Of course I took the obligatory colour shots too, one or two of which I have posted on the website and there is no object in the shot.

As for the idea it is a paper toy. You idiot! We are over twelve thousand feet high with a heavy wind and tough conditions. Perfect for flying a toy....
Well I'm not a U.F.O enthusiast from India like you shibli. I'm just some tourist taking pictures of a beautiful country and I happened to take one that didn't make sense to me given the other pics that I took. This is why I posted it. I am truly sorry that you feel that I'm lying and really I cannot prove to you otherwise. In fact your idea that it is a toy does not bother me much. What annoys me most is that you are questioning why I'm taking black and white pictures......

this is a pic I just posted. It is a one of the guys I went up the pass with and one of my fave pics because it is black and white.

I can see by your coat my friend you're from the other side. Just one thing I got to know. Who won?

Great pic! cheers.gif That person is just trolling. I was lead here from bforeitsnews.com took a look at the entire thread and determined it was most likely not a hoax.

I emailed the photo to a friend that works in the field of identifying photo manipulation, can't say exactly who he is or who he works for however he determined it was 100% authentic and I'm taking him at face value.

He said "it's the most unusual object I've ever seen"

The evidence is overwhelming.

I think maybe shibli should try to recreate the scenario he suggests to properly debunk this. First, fold a paper aircraft such as the one in the picture. Then, with the help of a friend perhaps, take a picture of that paper craft flying at the same altitude with a similar backdrop to prove your theory.

Good luck with that...

Didn't see the color shots of the same scene in this thread.

Would be nice to see the color pictures to see if there is a distortion in the picture.

Craft looks like an air shark.

Perhaps you can model it in 3d as did I. I'd love to see your "air shark" tadpole. coffeetime.gif

I was just noticing that your 3d image is the front half of a shark (minus the pectoral fins) with a blended aerodynamic tail and a gondola.

The actual ship seems to have a more distinct gondola and I'm not sure about the tail.

The illumination appears to be from directly above more or less - yet the far tail tip is dark. Don't know what to think about that.

It took a while to get to that point. If you have any positive suggestions they are of course welcome. Spent years envisioning 3d with AutoCad, Octo also has the 3d visualization graphics background.
We have had our own animated TV series and went to the Finnish equivalent of the Emmy awards. Just sayin' coffeetime.gif
