By the way I just checked the link I put up for the original picture and it comes up on image shack with a red X. Can anyone confirm? The colour picture is still up there but not my black and white still. why would that be?

Yessir I can confirm your pic is not available anymore fatman.gif Funny eh?

No worries, I'll upload and replace it.

edit: ok, you fixed it.

already done. Once again pleased I put it out on this site as you guys seem very thorough and have excellent ideas. I like this concept of water and air. I remember that film 2012 and how the idea to save a proportion of the population was to build arks based on the religious ideology of Hinduism, Christianity and Judaism through gods coming from times of great floods. One thing that never sat right with me was why on earth they didn't just build planes that could when the time was right become like boats (arks). For example tidal waves sweep the earth so some of the population is lifted into the air a couple of thousand feet and when the waters settle the people come down and the planes activate as arks. These designs you produce remind me so much of that. That film was all about building arks into the side of mountains that would take the impact of the wave as it hits and not utilising the airspace say for example like a Zepplin.

I can see by your coat my friend you're from the other side. Just one thing I got to know. Who won?

12.gif Thanks Mr.Bumps! I have to agree with Rog', on the Vimana analysis. That was my gut feeling to begin with, though I worked on it without prejudice that it would come out this way or that.
Very difficult to translate a 2d obscure object to 3d but thankfully, like I said with Octo's help was able to make it happen.
Id say pretty close to the actual craft based on what little I had to work with.
I've worked in engineering for a number of years and have a solid AutoCAD and 3d modeling background, Octo is an animator and we were lucky enough to work on a series together, so we are not exactly amateurs.

Thanks so much, it really did come naturally.
Once the 2d object was taken into the third dimension where it could be realized, the rest just fell into place.
Hit me like a revelation when I began to see it overall for the first time, it takes a lot to impress me, and man... was I surprised.

I have to add that we got debating things like perception, which is not a bad thing at all, just interesting how we see things and how difficult it is to UNsee things you see or THINK you see. Says something about reality does it not?

Living in old boat building country it's not a far fetched conclusion I think to recognize sea faring capabilities:

Naww, I didn't use Autocad for that, I took the shortcut. It's called Sculptris and its freeware! yay.gif http://www.pixologic.com/sculptris/

You can download it free and do all kinds of cool stuff. Intuitive interface, like sculpting clay!

I'd be doing this for a week on AutoCAD, and I'm really fast on it. chuckle.gif Nice to find these freebie shortcut programs.

I, on the other hand, am a rank amateur, so expect the unexpected, with the usually panache of an upstart.
