Lemons are said to be alkaline forming in the body.

I've started a five day lemon body cleanse and alkaline experiment.

Day 1 - 1/2 lemon in filtered water in the morning and 1/2 lemon in filtered water at night. I will increase it to 1/2 lemon each consecutive day up to day five.

Quote:How to pick a good Lemon:
Heavier lemons will have the most mineral content and sugar thus thick skinned lemons will be lighter then thin skinned lemons and will have less sweetness and minerals.
The ones with the most juice will have finely grained texture peels.
Lemons should be fully yellow the ones with green tinges have not fully ripened and will be very acidic.
Over ripe lemons will have a wrinkling look, have soft or hard patches and not be a colourful yellow.
Lemons stay fresh kept at room temperature (not in sunlight) for about 7 to 10 days. Or store them in the refrigerator crisper for about four to five weeks.

I love lemons! My favorites are deep yellow, smooth and thin skinned. Lemon water is so refreshing too!

the only thing i drink is water usually, but in summer (3/4 of the year here) i add fresh lemon or lime juice to the water, cause it is so alkalining and refreshing.. i drink coconut water too when its really hot.. nothing better than that..

you should do the lemon in the water every morning forever.. i start the day with a 1/4 of a teaspoon of bicarb soda in water.. if i have been naughty and had sugar during the day i do at night before bed too.. i know shadwo does the bi crab trick and octo and JR are into bircarb too..

I think I just may drink the raw lemon juice in water every day because it's such a lovely refreshing drink any way. I have also taken to putting a smidgeon of tumeric on my tongue with the 'strong' lemon juice water and it is very palatable.

After sqeezing the juice from the lemons today, I decided to see how well the remaining lemon pulp works to clean. Well, I must say, it is an excellent cleaner because I smeared it all over my stove (because everybody cooks and then walks away from the mess) and it cut through all the mess in seconds.

So at the end of day 2, with 1.5 raw lemon juice in water throughout day, I was feeling sickish at the end of the day. Beginning of day 3, my body had symptoms of acidity not alkalinity. So, I will stop the lemon juice for a few days, and try again, this time with 1/2 a lemon in a glass of water, only once per day.

I make lemon water everyday. I use organic lemons, in a glass jar.

Biere.
