hey i have a question about smoked salmon.

is it actually cooked or just.. well smoked?

cause one time years ago there was a sammich shop, and you could have whatever you wanted on it.
so i tried smoked salmon. but when i went to eat it, it was pretty much raw.

what is the deal with that?
i threw it out lol.

There's both cold smoked and hot smoked salmon. The regular smoked salmon is cooked, but the cold smoked variety is prepared with cold smoke obviously (under +32C)

i cant understand how one is supposed to eat rubbery fish on a sammich though.
very odd choice to have as an item to pick.

Cold smoked salmon is a lot like salt cured salmon (nomnom), which is similar to lox I guess, only it tastes smoked. Interestingly, salmon in Swedish is 'lax' so I guess that's where the lox came from.

Any as you call "raw" salmon should be served thinly sliced. Sounds like your sammich shop didn't know what they were doing 13.gif
