Then this show goes along the same lines as Mountain Men and Alaskan Bush People. It can have some interest if one is interested in survival in that climate. But, it is a very harsh existence and any medical issues can become life-threatening very quickly.

What makes this show different?

Finland and Alaska are on the same-ish latitude. If tshtf we'd head up to the cabin in the woods. It's already off grid

I like that show. I have not seen it in a while, though. I like Agnes Hailstone (the native lady) the most and the asshole Andy Bassich the least. I don't know how far you are into the series, but Andy is the guy that is always an asshole to his wife. (Coincidentally, she left him because he was abusive. Good for her.) I don't care much for Sue either. God, how much can one person whine? And if I never again hear about the damn bear that attacked her it will be too soon. Can she do anything right?

Sort of but not really. Bush People is fake. They don't live in the wilderness. They don't even live in Alaska. That remote place where their new home is located is actually on an island with 1500 other residents. They don't even sleep on the island. They stay in a motel in town. Several of the cast just got convicted of falsifying lying on state documents about living in Alaska so they could collect the yearly check Alaskan residents get from oil. The oldest boy was the only one that actually lives in Alaska.

No, I don't watch that shït. My MIL does. I thought it was fake and did a little digging.
