We average fifteen 7.0+ earthquakes a year, and we've had 6 this month alone. uhoh.gif

Here's a screen grab of all Recorded EQs so far in 2014. I've only been tracking for about four years, so its hard for me to say there's an increase or decrease because I don't have access to 100 to 500 years worth of data. The recorded data is very limited.

I have noticed a few Patterns. Less Large EQs in a area during colder weather, as well as Larger EQs following Solar Flares and CME impacts ( Earth Impacting ones ) Also the increase in EQs when the Earths Magnetic field ( The Bz ) is towards the south.

Just arm chair science so far from me, but many people are starting to research it.

İmage

Global incident map has a new improved website "beta" so there still some glitches here and there. It has a great interactive search feature you can plot and bring up EQs by size as well as locarion.

Heres the link>

Crikey nowhere is safe , you never can tell , I went from Sydney to Christchurch in NZ for a golf tournament in 1978 , was great place, so I decided to stay. I asked about Earthquakes , and was assured it never will happen in CH CH !
Then, 32years later TSHTF !!! A massive 7. 2 very shallow one ! ---Then 2 months later a 6.8 followed by 6,9 completely destroyed the city ! and in the next 3 1/2 years later we've had well over 13,000 of them

The red star is where I live in relation to the nearest fault line to me. The new Madrid Fault. A little over 500 miles from me.
