Studies confirm that article comment sections – for better or worse – are heavily swaying public opinion.

How many times have you read a mainstream news article about NSA spying, drones, gun control or any other other hot button issue where the author sides with the establishment, only to have their argument completely eviscerated by a deluge of irate respondents in the comment section?

I learn more from the comment section than the article usually. Except Zerohedge, all they say mostly BTFATH bitchez rofl.gif but the articles are good.

They going to try and step on more of our rights for information , so put these rude ignorant fucks in the place for all the bullshit lies and brainwashing they have been doing to make the world think they are number one! When in all honesty we are all number one, not just our rude govt. wanna be structure! One day our Govt. may be able to look at the world as a whole and not just back one country like Israel! We need our trust in all countries out there and not be segregative, as we have been doing! They getting scared and coming after your world changing comments so hurry and get as much out there as possible

So, the propagandists will be the only voice heard. Which will ensure even fewer people reading that bull shït.
It's win win.

the lines are getting drawn in the sand again, and our lives are at risk because this government doesn't want to budget its own items. So why are our lives at risk because our own govts. actions??? We have children playing little elementary school games because they don't get what they want! This system is ğkking pathetic! Can't believe we have so many in all these agencies and all they want to do is keep attacking our citizens. You can only pull so much water out of a turd, before you have to do some real work, like most of us hard workers that you'all are walking all over!! Must be nice to sit back and tell everyone what they must do, look at where that has gotten us all!!LMFAO
Hell i work 6 ğkking jobs, so don't tell me what i need to ğkking do! When anyone around me works 3 or more, then i'll talk to them!

A lot of our local papers went to a paywall here recently and they're laying off a bunch of people. They're having problems and I don't think too many are interested in paying €60 for 3 months of bullshit foofoo news. 13.gif

The Telegraph a msm paper in the UK will be going to a paywall soon. I have notice in the comments section over the years more people are becoming informed or at least willing to speak up against the nonsense articles. However I have notice recently that on some of the hot topic articles in particular finance related ones, commenting is not allowed any more. Whereas before it had many commentators telling their opinion from reality on the the ground.

Same pattern over here.

Big press sites were getting bloody interesting,
Finnish public quite clearly divided along "truther" vs "statist" lines.

(Made for some übergreat sarcasm & irony.
Finnish is a great language for that sorta thing.)

But yeah, local press' paywall kinda made all that history for me personally.
Looks like I'm not alone.
