It just means you need to drink more if you prefer beer to achieve same health benefits

Sure, Octo, let's go with that. chuckle.gif

But the study advises that 14 units is recommended, I believe this is 14 small drinks 2x per day per 1 week...the typical medicinal dose.

WTF is a unit of alcohol?

What politics from both sides wants to teach us is that things are never complex. If you have your little package and something doesn't fit into that package, You don't know what to make of it so you want to dismiss it or then you will have to do the work of reconsidering your assumptions. - Michael Malice

I know they did not specify, but I recall my doctor explaining what an acceptable limit per week is and she said 14 drinks per week. I assume one drink is a 6 oz glass of wine (with food),

Well it's hot tub time now, see ya all later.

If moderate alcohol drinkers are less likely to get dementia, I'll be a genius my entire life.

Urine, and vomit and fecal matter...

Stay out of pools.

There's still much debate about this, and every study is different. I've seen fewer than 14 units/week advised, and even studies that claim no drinking is beneficial.

I wonder if medical research will ever clearly decide these diet issues.

WTF is a unit of alcohol?

1 oz. grain spirits (80 proof) = 1 unit

2 oz. cordials (40 proof) = 1 unit

6 oz. Wine (13% abv) = 1 unit

12 oz. beer (6% abv) = 1 unit
