Government spokesman Noor ul Haq Baloch said. 'The reason behind suspension of the campaign is the security threat to workers.'

So, the Taliban are winning.

Afghanistan peace negotiators and leaders are set to meet with the Taliban and other rebel groups in France on Thursday to discuss ways to end the conflict in Afghanistan as NATO troops prepare to withdraw in 2014

The Afghan authorities must be sh**ing bricks.

I'm sure the Afghans are goddamn tired of conflict. sad2.gif

Interesting that vaccination campaign they oppose so much. Can't blame them for not trusting the UN/US though. 13.gif

I would expect to appease the Taliban the number one item on the agenda will be to take away any rights the women there have gained in the last 11 years. sad2.gif

A government inquiry has found that polio vaccines for infants funded by the Global Alliance for Vaccination and Immunisation are causing deaths and disabilities in regional countries including Pakistan.

The report, exclusively available to The Express Tribune, also suggested suspending the mass polio campaign, including the administration of pentavalent vaccines – a mixture of five vaccines to cure five diseases – until an inquiry finds these vaccines safe for children.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation program in India was promoted as "The Last Mile: Eradicating polio in India." The promotional video displayed numbers showing thousands of cases of polio in India decades ago, with the number of cases dropping to 42 by 2010. But it appears that wild polio virus stats have been traded for polio from vaccines and non-polio acute flaccid paralysis (NPAFP).

In India, over 47,000 cases of NPAFP were reported in 2011. The paralysis symptoms of NPAFP are practically the same as what's attributed to "eradicated" wild virus polio. Apparently, vaccine polio viruses also cause polio paralysis.

What is done with OPVs (oral polio vaccine) that are produced but banned in the West? Dump them on third world countries with the humanitarian cover that they are less expensive and easier to administer to large groups simultaneously.

Pretty sad huh? Reminds me of this:

Quote:A doctor working in Gondar hospital in Ethiopia wrote to me recently to spell out what this means. The hospital has none of the basic textbooks on tropical diseases it needs. But it does have 21 copies of an 800-page volume called “Aesthetic Facial Surgery” and 24 volumes of a book called “Opthalmic Pathology”.7 There is no opthalmic pathologist in training in Ethiopia. The poorest nation on earth, unsurprisingly, has no aesthetic plastic surgeons. The US had spent $2m on medical textbooks which American publishers hadn’t been able to sell at home, called them aid and dumped them in Ethiopia.

Now they are resuming the polio vaccine programme, but this time they will have armed protection.
