Fan John Wright has now launched a petition urging the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry to recommend that "one of the four new discovered Heavy Metals in the Periodic table is named Lemmium".

Mr Wright, from York, said it was fitting because Lemmy was a "force of nature and the very essence of heavy metal".

Tis a great idea!...

Quote:Confirmation that four new elements – those with atomic numbers 113, 115, 117 and 118 – have indeed been synthesised has come from the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (Iupac), completing the seventh row of the periodic table.

Elements 115 (ununpentium) and 117 (ununseptium) were discovered by groups collaborating across three institutions – Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in the US, the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Russia and Oak Ridge National Laboratory in the US.

How exactly did Bob Lazar know 30+/- years ago that element 115 would be called ununpentium?

(Lazar first appeared in the media in an Omni magazine article in the early 1980s.)

I suggest element 115 should be named boblazarium
