The body of a missing convicted murderer was dragged out of a car by a bear that ate part of it and buried the rest, authorities in Canada said Saturday, according to reports.

Rory Nelson Wagner, 53, was out on parole from a murder sentence when he vanished from Kamloops, British Columbia, on May 23, CTV reported.

The black bear was later euthanized by conservation officers, CTV said late Saturday.

The Vancouver Sun said Wagner and two others were charged with killing a man who they believed had sexually assaulted their family member.

chuckle.gif don't know why they shot the bear though, they're scavengers, it was just doing what black bears do.

Sounds like he got a halfway proper burial in spite of kicking it inside the car. chuckle.gif Not sure if euthanizing the bear was the right thing though.
I've heard once they get a taste of human flesh they are no longer docile to people, but I don't know how true any of that is.

That's what I've heard, just didn't know if it was true or not. A lot of people that talk about bears say things that are not necessarily fact.

Can't say I've ever heard anything like that. Imprinted bears (unimpressed with people) will return to garbage dumps and campgrounds though. But I doubt this one would have dragged every suicide victim from cars on the back roads of BC chuckle.gif

Relax CA, the bear bait killed a fellow who sexually assaulted a family member. That's a no-no here.

well ya know. having worked as a silviculturalist and surveyor for 20 years in the BC forests, I can tell you the one thing that will always attract bears is smelly feet. Sounds funny but bears LOVE toe jam damned.gif
