Quote:Alarmingly, there’s been a surge in numbers of an “uber flea” where the male has a burgeoning appendage clocking in at two and a half times longer than its body.

That gives the insect the biggest manhood, relative to size, on the face of the earth.

Though we had a harsh winter, the fleas survived because they can lie dormant during cold weather and come to life as soon as it hots up.

They usually get into homes on the coats of dogs and cats and quickly set up home in carpets and furniture.

chuckle.gif You'd think that would be fairly awkward having an appendage like that. There's been an increase in the bloodsuckers, I can attest to that. We had to get flea collars for our dogs.

chuckle.gif  A friends house was flea infested a few years ago, if they were the size of golf balls, every window in the house would have been broken.

I have to buy new flea and tick collars every year for my babies. It's always bad here.

We had a place get infested once. It is pretty much impossible to get rid of them without tenting your house. They get in every crack and crevasse in the place and even bug bombs won't get to them. They, along with tics and mosquitoes, are one of the few species the planet could live without.

Then again, imagine what the population would be like if there had been no fleas.

What politics from both sides wants to teach us is that things are never complex. If you have your little package and something doesn't fit into that package, You don't know what to make of it so you want to dismiss it or then you will have to do the work of reconsidering your assumptions. - Michael Malice

It would be Finland.

There  are  no  fleas  here.  coffeetime.gif

The ticks, horseflies and mosquitoes more than make up for it - except this year.

We are virtually insect free and May was better and far warmer than all of last summer.

Considering the percentages of the population that was killed by fleas I think it would be closer to China.

How much rain did you get? Yesterday was the first sunny day we have had in about three weeks. We will be inundated with mosquitoes this year.
