Sorry to hear that, hope all goes well.

Maybe you could tell your Dad that it's hip to be cool and cool to be hip especially in a winery

What politics from both sides wants to teach us is that things are never complex. If you have your little package and something doesn't fit into that package, You don't know what to make of it so you want to dismiss it or then you will have to do the work of reconsidering your assumptions. - Michael Malice
' Welcome to My Nightmare '
The hospital is about an hour drive from here and of course today we have blizzard conditions so you don't go out driving unless you have to.
On the upside it's the best damn time of the year to have surgery. It's -12 outside.

Since the surgeon is taking his time to do the surgery (he's triaging) one would think that is a very good sign. A high school classmate of mine is a retired highly successful orthopedic surgeon. I asked him this very question about how each break must be different from every other break he helped mend.
He gave a me a surprising answer. He said they learn in medical school to categorize breaks. They can often tell how the break happened, in fact. Knowing your dad's daughter a little bit (you), I'd guess he is indeed a strong man who will be ready to dance as soon as he can get his shoes back on. You'll be sure to do your part by providing him with a steady supply of liquid refreshments, of course.
