Her two Himalayan cats had liver failure. One died last Monday. The other died on Christmas Eve.

She could not figure out what the problem was. I asked why there were dollar store stickers on the cat food tins. My friend became angry and defensive when I brought up the dollar store food.

If people can not afford pets they should not own one,

Omg that's horrible. I would definitely suspect the food if they both died sad2.gif

So sorry to hear that. sad2.gif But wow, do I agree on the cheap food. Some of that Chinese stuff imported to the States is toxic and has killed many pets.
In the EU, there's no GMO or additives allowed in pet food.
At any rate, no wonder she became defensive. People are seldom comfortable when confronted with their own bad decision making.

I think that most people just don't know there is a difference in pet foods.

What politics from both sides wants to teach us is that things are never complex. If you have your little package and something doesn't fit into that package, You don't know what to make of it so you want to dismiss it or then you will have to do the work of reconsidering your assumptions. - Michael Malice
