I had acid problems until I quit eating grains. Now it's all good.

And I drink about 6 cups of coffee a day.

Stop going to charlatans, have your coffee.
Put a half teaspoon of baking powder into a half glass of lukewarm water.
Within 1minute you will burp the neutralized acids.
Doctors will kill you.

We've noticed our french roast espresso is way lower in acidity compared to weak ass roasts. Buy some good quality coffee and drink it in moderation. And Bohica's right. Do the baking soda, it certainly won't hurt. Old remedy.

Like Kreeper said, stay away from grains and sugar. Your gut WILL return to normal. And like Bohica said, baking soda every day will alkalize your blood and neutralize the acid.
Even if you give up coffee, the problem will still remain.
