Well, not mine, they were my guests for the summer...

DID AWESOME! yay.gif yay.gif They (beekeepers) brought their weakest hives here, which is only reasonable, they had no idea how well they would do and the strongest hives go to the certain places. But a couple of my hives were as heavy as their best hives blink.gif so they strenthened significantly! yay.gif beercheer.gif AND they asked if they could bring them back, I said yes please chuckle.gif

Yup!! yay.gif I told them it wasn't necessary at all, I just wanted to learn about bees and was delighted to have them (they were no trouble, not even a bit, no bears showed up :whew: ) but they said they were going to drop some off, some of the honey made right here on my own place, how cool is that? I sure won't say no! chuckle.gif I'm just so happy they did so well here.

lmao.gif lmao.gif pretty much yup. Though I always do a big dinner, invite my geezers.

Seven ways to use honey for whatever ails you

They're the sweetest things, I helped Diane now and then, just a hood on, bare hands and shorts, moving the hives, just hangin around by the hives listening to the hum, never got stung once. She'd pick them up in her hands and move them gently. I never saw them though, in the shop or house, I'd have to go right to the hives to see them. Was a really cool thing to experience.

I've always wanted to brew a honey ale, but that is sooo expensive here, buy the time I was done I could buy a couple cases of Newcastle and it would be about the same.

My s-i-l knows many winery owners in the Okanagan and said she'd try to get me a bottle of mead, I'd love to try that. Can't be that hard to make though can it? 13.gif

It's amazing Octo, something sooo satisfying about having them around. You start with a 'nook' (short for nucleus) and go from there.

If your gonna make "Mead" I hope you enjoy sweet things. I have tried it. Nothing wrong with it just far too sweet for my taste. Give me a beer any day. cheers.gif

Life is like a penny, you can spend it on what you like, but you can ONLY spend it once.
