From what I've research so far, they keep referring to this phenomenon being associated with schizophrenia. But, I think it may have something to do with a physical condition, such as an inner ear condition, or elevated blood pressure.

A Qtip will only shove the gunk deeper within the ear canal. But, I agree, a doctor should be seen, if only for she/he to dig whatever is in there out.

One time i was reading a book, one time i was watching tv,one time i was drifting off to sleep, one time i was walking across the yard and one time i was drawing a picture and then suddenly each time,Bang! a sudden gunshot blast sound inside my head! just as if i was suddenly shot in the head at close range, thats exactly what it sounded like every time...

I had a really interesting episode some years back. I went into my office, forced to be creative when you have kids and dinners to be cooked and all sorts of life. Anyways, I leaned my head in my hands trying to relax and clear my thoughts when I start dreaming, kinda. I know I'm fully awake but this plays out like a dream and I'm like wtf damned.gif

Whatever the explanation for exploding head syndrome is,wether its an issue with our brains and or modern day radio waves and or past life memories and or alien implants ect,ect...

What i want to know is why do people always hear the sound of a detonation,or the sound of a blast,or the sound of a gun shot?

Why not the sound of rustling leaves?

Why not the sound of gusts of wind?

Why not the sound of whistling?

Why not the sound of dogs barking?

Why not the sound of cats meowing?

Why not the sound of hands clapping?

Why not the sound of my damn teeth growing?

Why not the sound of anything else but an explosion?

Nows about the time i risk killing my own thread...

But wtf, like it or not, admit it or not...

Something might be playing around with our brains...

Or someone and he,she, they or it might be f#####g with our minds...

Is the sound you hear the same as it sounds to me,like a sudden gunshot blast inside your head?

One of the times i heard it,without any warning as usual,it scared the s##t outta me and i "jumped" with fright, momentarily thinking i had been shot...

I have had this too. About 4 years ago when I was 24 I was a uni student. A week or so before the exploding gunshot in my temple I had had my first episoce of sleep paralysis - I woke up on my boyfriend's couch unable to move or speak. I began screaming and I was so frightened. It had happened 1 or 2 more times before the gunshot sound. On the night of the gunshot sound I had only just begun drifting to sleep and BANG! Accompanied with a faint red flash of light. I woke up feeling like something had touched the skin on my temple. I was convinced I had experienced some sort of death and I was now dreaming before I would be completely dead... I fell back asleep and experienced a 3 layer sleep paralysis event.. I "woke up" thinking I was walking around my room, feeling a dog brush past my legs (I didn't have a dog) then I saw a quick image of a wolf and "woke up again" with a fright. This time I was terrified and I called my dad asking if what I was seeing was a sign of mental illness (he's a schizophrenic, mum too). While on the phone in the dark I caught a glimps of a coated dark man standing and staring at me I absolutely freaked out, hung up the phone, I could not move and felt so much terror then I "woke up" tears down my face, heart racing, I continued to sob.. I was really awake this time but I didn't know it for a little while as I stared into the dark waiting for more horror...

It was absolutely horrific. I never experienced it again. I learnt about sleep paralysis and I think being aware helped stop it.
