The NFL wants all fans patted down from the ankles up this season to improve fan safety.

Under the new “enhanced” pat-down procedures, the NFL wants all 32 clubs to search fans from the ankles to the knees as well as the waist up. Previously, security guards only patted down fans from the waist up while looking for booze, weapons or other banned items.

The stricter physical screening policy impacts the 16.6 million fans expected to attend live regular season NFL games this season.

The NFL recommended the new guidelines before Week 1 of the season, says spokesman Brian McCarthy. The league hopes fans will be “patient” — and arrive earlier to games to avoid long, punishing lines.

“The enhanced security procedures recommended by our office before the start of the season will further increase the safety of fans but will require some additional time,” McCarthy told USA TODAY in a statement Thursday. “We encourage fans to come early, enjoy their tailgating tradition, and be patient as they enter the stadium.”

Who wants to bet they will have TSA type scanners at some point, for all sporting and entertainment events. They have already starting doing so sporadically.

I don't think they have seriously considered the logistics of patting down 40-70 thousand fans, many of whom will be drunk, at every single game every weekend. Good luck with that. If the commissioner keeps this shït up he is not long for his job.

The NFL commissioner needs to be patted down from the neck up to make certain there is something there 13.gif gaah.gif

Kreeper, you're correct... the logistics of patting down that many thousands of fans means getting to the stadium hours before the game. Obviously, that's not going to be popular at all.
Add alcohol, and a TSA like force at a football game and you have a damn good recipe for cattle stampede apocalypse.

Just keep explosives smelling dogs at each gate. The real threat will come from the myriad of people that come and go during the week before each game. Deliver some explosives each time you enter and set them of remotely just after the Gestapo finishes patting everybody down and they are all seated.

ğkking morons...
