Saunas, even in the military, are strictly egalitarian places. No titles or hierarchies are used in sauna.

Nobody has a problem with nudity, how would you handle being invited into a Finnish sauna? Would you be comfortable getting naked in a group? Even mixed?

It's not about nudity itself, it's just in a public place where I for instance don't care to run into naked people.

the first and last time i visited a sauna was when i had this fitness contract at fitness company (i think they're called fitness first now). they had some huge wellness area with sauna and other stuff...
so i sat there. all alone. and then this old guy with his very low hanging balls comes in... damned.gif i was like "ugh i'll never use a sauna again".
end of my amazing story.^^

nice bedtime story, thanks.. did he have a hairy back too?

i cant do steam rooms, i hate sweating.. whats the point? who wants to sit in other peoples sweat anyway?

no. everybody in a fitness studio is shaved from what i've experienced. 13.gif

So, out of six cities so far only this one city (people) has a problem? That would make for an interesting social study on not only public nudity but public nudity dealing with aging.

But, what I have noticed is that if one is not artistically inclined and/or trained, then nudity is not seen, so much by many, in an artistic meaningful way.

So, it is hard for me to voice an opinion here whether art that reflects nudity with aging should be in a private setting or not, considering only one city out of six had a problem with it. Then again, I wonder if a nude beautiful young woman was on display would there be a problem?

I was wondering the same thing. But I'm afraid it's against the law to be naked in public space so the cops obviously didn't consider the art aspect of it, unsurprisingly.

Don't know what's really artistic about that. The old lady just sits and hides her part?

There are 2 kinds of artists; those who are stupids, have no imaginations and make such efforts to try and impress.

Then those who are genious, go beyond our imaginations that we don't understand, they make everything by their second nature without big efforts.

I think the naked lady in glass falls under the first category, that's no work of a genious.

I have to agree with that. I visited an exhibition in London many years back that also featured people in glass boxes. That was however a brilliant exhibition by Peter Greenaway that had all sorts of funny and exciting things going on. The day I was visiting, the four glass displays featured actors starting with the letter C. The following day actors who had played corpses in movies were on display chuckle.gif The weren't naked either.

Well Dries certainly has no qualms about holding back his visions on aging, homosexuality and what he perceives to be our many personas.
