A high-speed, hi-tech train which could travel from London to Manchester in 18 minutes could be coming to Britain.

First envisioned by Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk, Hyperloop is a high-speed ground transport system that consists of passenger pods travelling through vacuum tubes at breakneck speeds of 500mph and above.

A report by Wired suggests that two firms developing the technology have been in talks with the government about bringing it to the UK.

The UK talks centred on potential for a Hyperloop system linking Manchester and Liverpool, according to Wired.

It's cool and forward thinking but there are a ton of things that go wrong with such a system.
Existing proven stealth tech ionizes air surrounding the craft, thus reducing drag.

A much better approach than a vacuum tube.
