2 hits of Double Barrel Orange Sunshine

Corduroy jacket on 501's

Levi Jacket on Levi Cords

and two hippies walking a dark
street at midnight

up ahead a flashlight
in a dark street
with cop hat
sittin' top a head

out between parked cars an ambush

guns in the face
Knife at a throat

give us your money

and all of your dope

already paranoid

already scared

ran into 6 robbers

and lived

heh heh

and not by prayer

But by the grace of god you survived. chuckle.gif

That orange barrel was some wicked stuff. Ermahgerd, the stuff I did when I was younger... I'd never want a redux.

Just sitting and thinking
alone in a Park
waiting on something
hopefully won't
be too dark

hot Rod Mopar pulls
up to the curb

if Goat ropers ,, I'd be fighting
for my life again .

Sweet accented Vickie comes up
and sits down
cross legged and smiling , hand out to introduce .

Eye's that seem not to blink
and stare through you to the soul

she ask my name and where I came from

was drug here by over bearing mom

Gawd that's awful she says
we've been waiting to get out of here for California

bet you're bummed

" Ain't a happy Hippy about it no "

Kelly Sits down

" WOW,,, You got some Hair dude,, how long you
been growing it ? "

" Bout '68 or so "

" 4 years ,,, cool,, smoke ? "

" Uh , I don't , allergic ya know ?

" Allergic ? wow , bummer , so you can't get stoned ? "

" Nah , no need to anyway , um,,, you guys hang out here a lot ? "

Vicky cuts in with " Yeah, it's like the only place inside town
we're not hassled by the red Necks "

She's attracted to me , it shows ,,,

I ask " You like concerts ? "

I have tickets to Allman bro's ,, would you like to go with me ? "

( I knew it , her eyes had it written in blue )

Man, the Allman Brother's... especially back then would have been nearly on the level of seeing Zeppelin.
I was way too young in the day, missed out on all the good stuff. gaah.gif

~~~ Truer eyes ever seen ~~~~
Intensity runs through a dream
behind truer eyes
I've ever seen
Mounted over a smile
melded in bright light
and dimples so cute
the feelings so right
we fall and tumble
lay and stand round
gazing each other
new love being found
The acid was dropped into a beer I had
seems a buddy thought it a good idea that I fry
worst damned shït that could happen that night
Steve and I left the party
cause the acid was freaking us out
and all the people there had weird
minds around us .
we are 5 miles from home
having to walk because who we rode with
wanted to stay at the party
we cut down the dark side streets
to avoid cops on the Blvd who hassled hippies
we have to pass through the Gang area
Cops or gangs
jail or a fight
I'll take the fight over being in a cage of bars
on a freaky drug
sure enough
a gangster wearing a cop hat and dark cloths
baits us
sure enough
his five cronies surround us
Steve had a Knife at his throat
I had a gun to my head
they search us and ask about drugs
I turn to the barrel of the pistol and tell it
we were dosed dude
the gun had no reply
i saw no bullets in the cylinder
swung a right as i turned and yelled RUN STEVE
gun went flying down the side walk in front of me
and I grabbed it as i passed it
the dude with the knife let go of steve to chase me for hitting
his buddy and Steve almost past me as i turned the gun back
on them
they stopped
I ran to catch up
turned to look behind
the sidewalk was clear
not even the guy i knock down was there
If not for the starter pistol in my hand
I would have thought it all a Hallucination
we ran to the Blvd
stopped in the light of a lamp post
LAUGHED like Loons about it .
then spent 2 hours weaving down side streets trying to get home
I lived alone at 16 and we made it to my house
all night and until about 2:00 pm the next day we fried
Bruce got his next time i saw him for putting that shït in our beers .
He is dead now
Got shot to death in New Orleans in a Bar parking lot
robbed and left dead there .
he was 21 , had just been kicked out of the Navy for theft of Gov.'t
property .
Vicky and I saw one of the Last shows Duane Allman did before he
died riding his BSA into the side of a Peach truck that year .
Eat a peach , the album is named for that , it came out right then
after Duane died .
The venue we saw them at was a Coliseum with an Open floor
general admission was $3.50 and you sat where ever you wanted
we were 20 feet back from the stage dancing all night
The Allmans , like the Grateful dead
Played songs for half an hour
some medleys
others just a song that runs into jam, with 4 or 5 lead guitar jams in them
like this one below
From the Allman bro's album " Eat a peach "
the last song on the last side of the second album in the set
33 minute jam
called Mountain Jam
The riff was stolen from Donavan's song " First there is a Mountain "
about a Mushroom trip he took
Donavan stole the riff from some Classical artist of the
18th century
I forget that one .
Some Austrian composer I think
it is in the key of the F minor pentatonic
my favorite lead to copy
dunno.gif We make it a policy not to check IP's unless something REALLY bad is going on, besides...that's work. chuckle.gif
I tossed one post because I'm burned out on the inflammatory language, but didn't ban the IP.
People that get upset deserve a second chance too.
I don't like to have to play mod anyway, I try to let people watch themselves as I hope most everyone does not lose sight of the fact we are all adults here.
The original Donovan song
" There is a Mountain "
it wasn't a Mushroom trip he wrote this for
that was another band and another song
This is Donovan's Take on Atlantis
I love this , used to sing this a lot when i had a voice
sit on the beach , pull down on the strings and just strum this
for ever ,,, singing it with friends
while some drummed
memories man
As i cannot prove
as no one can prove
what we believe
I believe in Atlantis
I as well feel a fiber of connection with the Ethereal worlds
and Eritreans
Watch the Video for the Waves if nothing else
Man , see why i love sailing
it is just frightening enough to make it addictive
I mean
if you like being scared
it can become an addiction
the rush is addictive
not the fear that causes the Rush chuckle.gif
Quote Donovan
"and as the Elders of our times
may choose to remain Blind "
And as the Antediluvian Kings sent out he emissaries
to all corners of the Earth
upon ships
aboard were the Twelve
The Farmer
The Artist
The Musician
The Scientist
Quote the Inca when questioned about Pyramids,,,
that were far greater in age than the ones they lived in .
" Those were built by the Elders of Old , the Wise Masters , who came
from across the Sea like you did "
What did they look like ?
" Like you , with great beards , white , with robes , God's , real Gods ,
not like you "
Atlantis , sent out their Cultural Masters of the crafts and Arts .
To maintain their advanced Culture in the World for posterity .
