This is the book on Norse Mythology that I would love to have.

The lady that wrote the book has a series of videos that talks about a lot of the stuff in the book.

What politics from both sides wants to teach us is that things are never complex. If you have your little package and something doesn't fit into that package, You don't know what to make of it so you want to dismiss it or then you will have to do the work of reconsidering your assumptions. - Michael Malice

A thread about norse mythology just calls for mentioning the abominable necropants from Iceland. Look them up if you haven't already, our nordic ancestors were up to some messed up stuff.... I once read Njáls saga, which also paints a rather awful picture of the viking era. It would be cool to know what kind of stuff people really were up to around the nordic countries long ago, but our historical records are quite scarce. According to a museum employee I know the archaeological finds around here are usually not in any good shape because of the acidity in our soil, everything oxidates in a pH of around 4.

i kinda like it here on the innernen

Quote:Most Armageddon scenarios, even the New Testament Armageddon scenarios, you may have a lot of angels fighting each other, but nobody says "And then God is going to die, battling Satan, and they're both going to tumble into the pit, and people are going to have to figure out what to do on their own," which would be really rather interesting, and you're not given that. But the Norse, you are — here's Odin killed, fighting the wolf. Here's Thor, killed by the Midgard serpent. Here's Heimdall and Loki, who've always hated each other, finally falling in battle with each other. And that adds a sort of very peculiar depth to the entire operation.

Imagine that, no God no Satan and we would have to figure things out for ourselves.

Do NOT necro the necropants!

The thing to remember about written records about the Vikings is that they were written by Christians.
