Quote:Company officials say the level of THC was outside the product specifications of plus or minus two per cent. The product is labeled as having a THC level of slightly more than nine per cent, though testing indicated it may have a level as high as 13.7 per cent.

Quote: Company officials say if clients wish to destroy the product at home, they should add water to the marijuana to render it unusable, mix it with cat litter to mask the odour, and dispose of it with regular household waste.

The real issue is that people would actually buy mj with only 9% thc.

Quote:Valerie Curran, a psychopharmacologist from University College London who led the latest study, says that if habitual users must partake they should be encouraged to use strains with higher levels of cannabidiol, rather than using skunk. She also argues that studying cannabidiol could provide insight into the mechanics of memory formation, and that it may have therapeutic benefits for disorders involving memory deficits. The findings are published in the British Journal of Psychiatry today1.

What the hell:

Quote:Ilan attributes the positive finding of Curran and her team to their more powerful methodology in analysing subjects' own smoking preferences. In the United States, government policy dictates that only marijuana provided by the National Institute on Drug Abuse can be used for research — and it "is notorious for being low in THC and of poor quality", says Ilan.

So higher levels of cannabidiol and lower levels of THC is recommended.

I am so glad research in other countries is using different strains to do their studies.
