Quote:Protesters shut down operations at Oakland's busy port and blocked traffic yesterday in demonstrations against economic inequality and police brutality that turned tense as the night wore on.

The protest by some 5,000 people fell short of paralyzing the northern California city that was catapulted to the forefront of national anti-Wall Street protests after a former Marine was badly wounded during a march and rally last week.

As evening fell, an official said maritime operations at the Oakland port, which handles about $39 billion a year in imports and exports, had been "effectively shut down"....http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/...56478.html

Or one mob infiltrator to spark an attack from Police.

Keep shutting down ports and we will see equality works. We will all pay equally higher prices with the decrease in the flow of goods.

Why should they go out to fight?

"Or one mob infiltrator to spark an attack from Police." Yup

"Keep shutting down ports and we will see equality works. We will all pay equally higher prices with the decrease in the flow of goods." Let alone pissing off the Teamsters Unions. Did that all by my lonely in Pennsylvania. Marathon Petroleum sent me to a steel mill in rural Pa to figure out a problem with USS/USX tubular manufacturing. They all looked funny at me, went out and drank some beer with the locals. Employees were stressed about dwindling orders and asked me why. Told em because price too high and quality too low, Japanese take scrap metal from USA, ship it back to Japan and manufacture a superior product cheaper all due to no labor unions.

That did it, lucky to get out of there with my life...
