Octo's Miraculous Wool Fleece Recommendation!!

Thank you, Octo!! You might have saved my feet. In fact, I'm sure you did! yay.gif

For those of you who don't know, Octo mentioned in another thread how sheepskin fleece ended her mother's nighttime neuropathy pain in her feet after chemo (and maybe in the daytime, too?)

Well, in the last 10 days or so my ankles had been suffering from a chilly tingly feeling in a not cold Florida. My feet and ankles are weak points on my body. My doctor, who also suffers from the effects of a motorcycle accident many years prior told me that he had much the same thing. It's a limited sensation on the bottoms and tops of my feet due to my earlier broken back and possibly the surgery to stabilize my spine.

By tonight, the tingling was really playing on my mind with my feet and ankles feeling the constant tingles quite a bit.

An acquaintance is dealing with diabetic wounds on his feet with the threat of amputation being needed if his foot doesn't heal up, so this situation was playing on my mind quite a bit. What I've got felt like it was heading in that direction. There was even a brown discoloration on one foot from impaired circulation and more than occasional spasms in that area of my foot at night. zombie.gif

The iciness was made worse when a phone was recharging two rooms over from my bedroom making sleep impossible. That went on for three hours. That time my ankles returned to normal temperature in less than a minute of its being unplugged. T-Mobile and AT&T have added more  of their telecom internet of things to the area recently in response to the recent hurricane, so that appears to be adding to the speed with which this has become a challenge.

So anyway, not having actual sheepskin fleece, I covered the top and bottoms of my feet with a wool poncho. Although the contact area with my skin was limited since the wool isn't like fleece with its great surface area, my feet settled down and gradually produced a 35% to 40% reduction of the tingly feeling during several minutes of testing!!

The wool poncho I'm using has wool frill on both ends. So I cut off some of the frill on one of the ends and stuck those trimmings inside a pair of cheap faux lined slippers I was wearing. Prior to doing that, the slippers were not helping to improve the situation at all. The synthetic material might have been making the sensations more pronounced, in fact.

But now with the wool clippings on the bottom of one of my feet, that foot feels a good 50% better. Even the distant part of my ankle is less stressed to some degree!

Tonight, I'll see if the poncho will stay on my feet and ankles during the night.

There's a good chance I'll be ordering a sheepskin fleece and maybe some sheepskin slippers. Meanwhile. maybe I'll trace my foot on the poncho and cut out a piece for each foot.  The poncho was a gift from an elderly neighbor who had since passed away, but the poncho has never been used because I live in Florida. Or maybe I could just get a small piece of wool and use that.

Once again, thank you, Octo!!  beercheer.gif  cheers.gif    tinfoil.gif  yup.gif

Oh sorry I missed this, but you're very much welcome! I can ask my mom more about who recommended this and let you know my findings.

rofl.gif  True that! Rumor has it that on October 32, 1989, there was a headline claiming one of her children got away with something - that Octo didn't catch it. The child promptly caught it - and how. They teach this episode in the history books now about strange and rare events.

Thank you. You are a live saver! The poncho is doing enough to keep my ankles calm during the night.

I bought some wool blend socks for the daytime but they were super tight and didn't work. Had only 22% wool or something like that.

Decided to make poor man's gloves out of them like you like might see in a period movie about the UK 19th century by cutting tiny slits for my fingers and then put one of my inventions inside against the palms. Used it part of the day and it has helped better than 50%.. It's a combination of Lakhovsky, Flanagan, Krueger utilizing ceramic and copper.

Not real happy about living my life this way just to function so that the telecpm companies can provide faster video download times. OTOH, I'm ecstatic about knowing enough to solve this particular issue for now.

Unless I can move real soon however, I could be one of the first victims of Panama City's coming 5G based on how little I tolerate 4G.. Yesterday, just walking in a Walmart, where they probably have a good bit of electronics, I could barely muster the energy to walk out.

I'm doing better today with the sock gloves. But I won't be going out in public that way unless I absolutely have to. Then you'll see me in one or more of the "People of Walmart" videos.
