I'm guessing Coolchick is maybe within a 100 mile distance from where I am. I am guessing you are NW of Toronto, is that right?

It's been an ugly winter for you guys. I always thought Ontario had better weather than BC (other than the lower mainland) but this year it turned around.

It has been awful, I would normally be out in the backyard gardening, and out and about shopping for gardening supplies, but, no, I don't wanna.

That drought in CA, it stretches all the up the PNWest, Oregon, Wash, very little snow pack, our snow here in Central BC left in jan, very unusual. -40C isn't unusual, but I don't think we saw colder than -28 for a day or two. My brother from the Yukon was here last weekend and said same up there, very mild and no snow.

One thing that worries me, BC is a tinder box. We have some 15 million Ha, of beetle kill pine and with no water table, if that goes up, it would be a potential nuclear winter scenario.

DOOM! panic.gif chuckle.gif but still a serious concern.

hey do you get to see mountains all the time..?

i think that would be very strange..

i guess you would be used to it of course.

i saw a mountain once... in a very unlikely place... newfoundland lol..

we were driving in from port au basque.. just going along the old hiway.. and then suddenly there it was.. uhoh.gif

i never knew there were mountains there.. it was very freaky and unexpected...

im not very good with very huge things, like that..
same with the ocean. was the first time i ever saw it..

it is way too big for me to look at..

Closest to us is the Cariboo range, about 2 hours drive. There's big hills here, but in BC if it doesn't have snow on it, it isn't a mountain. LOL. Here's a pretty one in the coast range, not much over 12,000 feet.

Calgary is a bit of a funny city, nice place to be from. The foothills are nice, if you'd gone a little further West you'd have seen some nice glaciers. Unique Stranger plans to visit BC some day and I'm hoping she'll go past my house.

well you know its funny.. we didnt meet but one person there who was actually from calgary.
most were there from ontario like us.

we dint have a great experience out there. we planned to move there but we went at the worst possible time in 82.
everyone was broke n bankrupt n very unfriendly, especially to ppl not from there.

we managed to stay broke and, a few months in, my ex was hit by an unmarked cop car.. it was a bad accident. my ex's car, an old gran torino sport, was hit on the passenger side and spun into another car.
his was totaled. he got charged..
had i been with him in the car i doubt i would be here.
we left that place as soon as humanly possible..

Just Plain Nuts.
