It's another fine afternoon in Loonie Town Portland Oregon U.S.A.

so far , I have seen 8 homeless druggies digging in trash cans for deposit
bottles and Cans , One of which was head first down in the dumpster

I ate two Chocolate Croissants and on my forth cup of coffee

ain't seen any Calvary around but four Indians just walked by from the
doctors office next store , ( One in a Wheel chair missing half a leg )

everything is Loonie as it should be here

ok
Update completed . enjoy the spuds and beans folks

Oh you get return per weight? We have it per can or bottle. 15 cents per can, 10 for a glass bottle and 20 - 40 cents per plastic bottle. All stores have return machines and nobody throws their cans and bottles in the bin.

We have huge recycling bins that you put bottles in And all paper stuff and it gets sorted somewhere and recylced.. No one would ever cash in a used glass bottle or can.. As young kids we used to cAuse we lived near a place we could take them to.. But no such places exist unless you drive an hour.. Probably??

Thats cool you get to cash them in at your local.. Good idea.. They should do it here..

You bet it's a good idea. For a case of beer you pay €3.60 for the aluminum cans alone, even the receipt says so. Return the cans and you'll get your money back.

Enjoy your dinner. We need to know what you ate though agent_smith.gif

5 cents a can or bottle here , and yes we have recycle bins next to our
trash bins , people crawling all over trash cans here , grabbing those nickles .

we have machines you shove them in , it kicks a receipt , take it in the store
for the moola as you buy stuff ,

Out walking the Beeps a few weeks back , I came across 4 large black trash bags full
drove back by , threw them in the van
cashed out it came to $47 . but it took an hour to feed them through the machine .
ain't gonna ever do that again .
Bums hanging all around me , disgusting fuckers man

they wait at the machines because some people bring their recycles to the machines
and give them to the bums standing there .

one guy I met , cashes in over $300 a week , lives in an old van , drives out to neighborhoods the Bums are not in and gleans the cans and bottles out there
he hasn't worked a Job in 16 years he said .

says he's the only CANNER out that way .
they call themselves Canners , cracked me up .

where i live people would actually get a big fine if they trespass and steal the recycles. i think first offense is $50, then 500..1000 etc. today i saw a vietnamese woman haul 50 pounds of recycles to the recycle center. talk about extreme rummaging
