There must be a better way to detoxify, CC. I visited a wiccan once and told me that she prepared a special whole body, detox footbath which supposedly pulls out toxins via the feet. I don't recall what she called it, but at the end of the treatment the water turned black (she showed before and after pics to me). I didn't try it when I visited her store/treatment centre because I was feeling fine.

better than which thing?

i put different things there.
cutaneous acupuncture

not all of those things are for detoxing..
depends what you are needing i guess..

The cupping, where I believe you mentioned toxins are expelled via bleeding. Is that right?

in the case of the eczema patch i had, yes.

and i had cutaneous acupuncture first. that is why the blood was there.

what she took out, was a nasty big blood clot..

which would have taken a really really long time to dissolve, she said.
she told me, you can go anywhere you like for it.
but this is my way.

taking it out, meant it would never return.
it hasnt. there was no mark, scar, anything at all after she dried it.
it just became a scab, then new skin.
and i have never had it since.

that was one time and certainly not a usual kind of treatment.. it was a special one.

Quickest way to detox your system is through your tear ducts...Get the most potent Onion you can find and put your eyes as close to the cutting process as you can.

Our tear ducts are glands that release toxins...

Research it, quick and easy !

this tea she gave me for strengthening digestion (stomach and spleen), invigorating blood qi, energy.. and also to kill any bad bacteria.
see, i was having alot of problems this month.

i had been doing really well what with eating good foods and working out and all that
everything was strong and really great.
then one day. just bang. i started having bad trouble with digestion, bloating couldnt eat.. felt ill..
i thought, to begin with, that i had some bad chicken. because other than that, i was eating veggies and quinoa and stuff. but i got some chicken and i think that
either it was not so good, or i didnt cook it long enough.
now, it tasted fine. but it was after that, it started.

but then it kept going on and on for way too long for it to be just that.. so.. i didnt
know what the what anymore.
i decided to go see tcm dr to see if she could tell me.

and after i explained it she said she thinks i had some bad food.
which i had thought of myself.. but had dismissed it since it lasted way too long.

i said that to her.. for that long though?
and she said no. it is in combination with weather .. cold getting into an already weak spot.. and cold causes things like bloating and gas etc.
she said understand that with BOTH things going on, it will continue..

until you fix all that. which is what she is doing

each tea prescription is a little different for what is going on

if you look up each ingredient there, googling 'tcm golden thread uses' (for eg),
then you can tell what things she is fixing.

so alot of them are for strengthening digestion for instance.
each ingredient has a different action you see.

I am sorry to hear you were so ill. Were you ever checked for irritable bowel syndrome or acid reflux? If the cold was a factor then would you not have been continually ill throughout the Winter? From what I read of cold air baths, they cool the outer body temp to activate our inner organs to produce more heat to raise your metabolism, but it should not be so cold as to produce a chill.

no i dont have ibs or anything like that.

as i said all was going great.
and if i had bad food then it would weaken my system, allowing cold. that is why
it could hit me then as opposed to all winter.

just like being susceptible to a cold or flu. you will get it easier if you have a weak spot to begin with.

cold air bath is not even remotely a good idea for me lol

here is a bit about pathogenic cold invasion

'1. Cold tends to impair yang

Cold pertains to yin and tends to impair yang. When cold attacks the surface of the body, it will impair yang in the superficies; when it attacks the internal of the body, it will impair the visceral yang. If yang-qi is impaired and cannot warm and transform qi, it will lead to cold syndrome due to functional decline. If cold impairs the superficies, the defensive qi will be stagnated, leading to aversion to cold and anhidrosis; if cold directly invades the spleen and the stomach, the spleen-yang will be impaired, leading to cold pain in the stomach and abdomen, vomiting and diarrhea; if cold directly attacks shaoyin, it will impair heart-yang and the kidney-yang, leading to aversion to cold, lying with the knees drawn up, dispiritedness, cold hands and feet, diarrhea with undigested food, profuse and clear urine, thin and indistinct pulse.'

'Internal cold. You have an internal pilot light that warms your core, and fuels every function in your body. In Chinese medicine, it’s called Yang, and without it you would die. Your pilot light can get low for a variety of reasons, and can wreak havoc in a number of ways. Without sufficient heat to metabolize water, you may retain water, get up several times a night to pee, develop dampness, or have problems with phlegm. It also takes a certain amount of warmth to digest your food properly, so if your internal heat is low, you may have digestive difficulties or diarrhea with undigested food (I know, gross!). Internal cold can affect almost any of your organs, including your uterus, making fertility an issue. If you have internal cold, you will likely feel cold to the core, have a pale complexion, and feel fatigued in general. '

see for me, i was initially (2013) diagnosed with internal cold.
i had it pretty severely. i had a very cold damp apt.
i worked IN refrigerated and very damp/foggy conditions..
so i went to work in cold.. came home to sleep in cold, and it entered my system
pretty badly. i didnt know anything at all about tcm then.
so this is something i am susceptible to.
the weather has been pretty bad as far as damp cold windy.. nothing good for me at all. the springs and summers since then, are all screwed up. i have never yet gotten a good chance to warm up properly.
we have not had a 'normal' spring or summer for a good 3 years.
this does not help me.

well maybe i did but the tea will kill it.
that is one thing she gave me ingredients for.

i am guessing that is what the golden thread (coptis) is for:

'The root of the herb is considered a bitter cooling and drying remedy. It is capable of killing various germs and eliminating infections, having antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties. Its remedies are used to reduce fever, being good anti-pyretic and anti-inflammatory means. They are also the option in the fight against high blood cholesterol levels.'

'The main, the most valuable and beneficial component of Coptis is said to be berberine with its abilities to lower blood sugar levels, stop the replication of cancerous cells, increase the production of saliva, bile, gastric and pancreas juices, as well as kill various parasites.'
