I've never seen a situation where a few pricks improve things.

i asked my mum about eating the fat
she said who knows what the cows were eating and that there might be toxic stuff in the fat.
i read that as well, at other sites.. some said yeah they eat it and some no because of that reason. but then wouldnt it be in the whole thing as well?

ffs how does anyone eat anything.. this is getting stupidly confusing.

now i dont know what to do.
the butcher guy gets his stuff from local mennonites he said.

I'm pretty sure the benefits outweigh the hazards. I'd rather throw the other stuff away and save the fat ffs 13.gif

for now i just am heating up the actual broth
mine didnt gel.

it doesnt smell like beef much.

but when i roasted them , they did. smelled like a roast beef.

it could be the bay leaf that was boiled in it... i dunno.

Maybe you did not add enough bones with meat on them. One recipe I saw required 4 pounds of bones with meat.

Maybe next time, sear the meat on the stove top so you can get more browning in the pan and have a higher heat.

Well, the last time I made beef stew (soup-like) I seared the meat and my broth was dark and beefy tasting, but I didn't add too much water, so ...

well

i guess i used too much water
but the pot isnt very big,

if i had just covered the bones somewhat, i would have gotten 3 inches of soup
for 8 hours of work
lol
doesnt seem like that would be very worth it at all.

I think water to barely cover the bones is enough.
