Quote:With the influence of global warming, it is predicted that the incidence of heatstroke cases and fatalities will also become more prevalent. Because behavioral responses are important in the management of temperature elevations, heatstroke may be entirely preventable.

It seems acclimatization in severe hot weather takes greater than 10 days, so if I ever visit your fair land Ocker, I'll make sure it's for a month.

You can't acclimatize to that kind of temp. Like the POO you have to be born into it.

I started sweating just looking at the thermometer. chuckle.gif

Blistering temperatures across the ditch in AUSTRALIA have set the mercury boiling here,In New Zealand , with 30-degree Celsius heat sweeping the country this weekend.

Hot air from the heat wave blanketing Australia has leaked out over the Tasman Sea and is expected to make its way up the North Island today.

The Australian Bureau of Meteorology said it was possible Australia could reach a new national average highest temperature at the weekend. The current national average high is 40.14C, set in 1972.
Some parts of Australia were forecast to top 50C.

Quote:“Another concern is the amount of vegetation following two wet years, which has led to high fuel loads, that continue to dry out and raise concerns about increased bushfire risk. Fast moving grassfires are of particular concern.

Alaska had the coldest summer in years in 2012, and There has been NO global warming in 16 years.

Furthermore, according to Professor Judith Curry from Georgia Tech university the computer models used to predict future warming were ‘deeply flawed’.

I think this ends up being an excuse to push carbon tax, which does nothing to address or mitigate anything, it's money exchanging hands.

They act as if Co2 is the problem rather than address the real issue of pollution which is a very real threat.

Perhaps the climate warming phenomena is specific to certain regions only; high populations(?).
