heh heh
Know what JR
Knew a guy in San Diego back about 1970

he was 15 years old
got fed up with his parents shït and swore he would steal a sailboat and sail it to Hawaii

Guess what
he stole a sailboat about the size of mine

set out to Sea

looked up,, saw the Contrails of Jets and thought,, those must be
headed for Hawaii

so

during the day, he'd align the Bow sprit to the contrails

took a couple ---4,, maybe five weeks

friends got a call long distance from Hawaii

he'd landed just fine
used the stolen Sailboat to give Tourist day trips to other Islands

then chartered some more

decided he liked his trip from San Diego to Hawaii so much

he went down to the Marina
took a bigger Sailboat and left his stolen one in the slip he took the big one from

and,,,
set out for the Orient,,,

One Day,,,
he showed up at L.A. international airport from Florida where he docked the big stolen motor sailor,,,

and went forth to lease a warehouse,, where the imports he bought were sent.

Last i heard,,,,

after near 40 years of running an import export business ,,,
He retired himself out to sea,,
was on a Heading for the South of France

From a Surf bum to ultra rich Sail Bum

Anything is Possible in life

for the Self Actuated person,,, everything is probable in life

his positive outlook towards that first trip on a stolen Sailboat to Hawaii,,,
denotes his character ,,,

15 years old,,, had only been on a sailboat twice in his life,,

and did what only a boy of balls would try.

life is to be lived,,, not to be simply spent,,, he may not have been able at the time to verbalize that adage,,

but he sure as hell knew how to live it out.
wink
