Those are long distance races wait until the sprints begin when its only 1 or 2 laps then its not boring.......when its 100 meters instead of 1000 meters there is a big difference

my brother did speed skating..was quite good at it

Yeah it takes practice plus you dont have ankle support like you do with regular inlines

When I did it we only competed in local events but the team as a whole was very good. For some of those kids it was a lifestyle but for me was a hooby that costs 30 bucks a month for the exercise........I didnt like wearing the spandex so I quit chuckle.gif ........the spandex had STARDUST in huge letters 13.gif

It was just a way for the coach to make extra money at the local skating rink and the incentive was that you got to train with an olympic caliber coach. You have to really work hard at it to be good and that wasn't something I was going to do because I was far too lazy plus I discovered pot in that period of my life.

We all knew how to skate pretty good on quads(regular skates) so the next step was that so we just decided to give it a try.

When I got my first car I quit skating and going to the skating rink. Thats when cars and drag racing took over as my hobby.... i haven't looked back yet .

Why is curling in the Olympics?

It is a "sport" to the same extent that bochi ball and bowling are.

Bochi ball and bowling aren't in the Olympics.

Oh Lord... The IOC considers bowling a sport...

"Sigh" ABC TVs display of the results:
