Some memorable ones we're LuLu, I have a cat, The Password Is Always Swordfish and several others that make no sense whatsoever. In the context of being triggers, it makes perfect sense.

I think it may be wise to  start running ubuntu Rog', there are no back doors in it.

NO! I made the mistake of installing UBUNTU and it is full of crap! Install DEBIAN if you want a good safe OS.
LMDE with Mate desktop is/was the best you can get. I am too far into the UBUNTU crap to reinstall now.Too much for this old man. believe me, I have used Linux since the very beginning. cheers.gif I just spent 2 days deleting "EXE" files ! and I had a hell of a time getting Admin control back to do it! SUDU didn't get me shit the way "they" had it all fixed up. I don't know even if LMDE is any good as I have been using UBUNTU for the last year, but it was the only safe Linux OS at the time,if LMDE is not safe anymore,,then that's it! nothing will help. EXE files have NO business on a LINUX computer! 13.gif

Here's where to get Debian Cinnamon Live download : https://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/cur...so-hybrid/

you can load it to a flashdrive , and use it without loading it on your Hard Drive

it's the " Live " version of Debian ,

I'm making a flash drive of it as I type , going to play with it tonight .

Howdy doodie!

This is the one I like best Linux Mint Debian Edition, LMDE 3 Cindy i think is is "live" too ,don't cost nothin!

Its main goal is for the Linux Mint team to see how viable our distribution would be and how much work would be necessary if Ubuntu was ever to disappear. LMDE aims to be as similar as possible to Linux Mint, but without using Ubuntu. The package base is provided by Debian instead.

There are no point releases in LMDE. Other than bug fixes and security fixes Debian base packages stay the same, but Mint and desktop components are updated continuously. When ready, newly developed features get directly into LMDE, whereas they are staged for inclusion on the next upcoming Linux Mint point release.

Also after installing you might want to do this .....
Unlock the Locked root account, they aint takin any chances with careless installs! make your own ROOT password.

The root account is now locked by default.

To use the recovery console (from the Grub menu) or log in as root, you first need to give root a new password:

sudo passwd root
