Looks like they shot the predator responsible for the death of the Oregon woman.

"Cougars rarely kill"

Hope they got the right one in that case.

If being a menace is the criteria then mosquitoes should be first on the list. They kill more people than any other animal. Meanwhile, cougars and wolves help keep the deer population in check so that they don't strip the forest clean of vegetation. This prevents flooding because the vegetation helps to absorb rainwater before it drains off into the streams and rivers.

Let's make 5G safe by installing zirconium ceramic bricks to the cell masts. It will save the providers billions of dollars quickly by reducing interference.

Golly, that would be neat, if there were actually deer and elk where all these wolves were introduced and cougar could be harvested with dogs like they used to be about 12 years ago.
Apex Predators now have exhausted the game and have begun to prey on cattle and other domestic animals.
In Oregon, forest fires damage millions of acres because the government can seem to manage the underbrush or promote sustainable logging.
Instead, they allow the forest to burn and mismanage every natural resource in the state.
With the destruction of old logging roads, fire fighters can't even get to the areas at risk and won't employ proactive measures to prevent fires.
You have no idea how corrupt the system is in Oregon and Washington.
The environment suffers as do the farmers, hunters, loggers, fishermen and people that want recreation in the State and National forest.

Of course there are policies from governments that harm nature and farming. But nature has a better plan.

It's funny that some people dive right into something that they know nothing about.

So you admit that.  chuckle.gif

PS. That had to sting when he hit. As a kid I used to go over a 3 meter board doing the usual can openers and simple dives. Even at that height, if you hit the wrong way, the water lets you know it doesn't "play."

PPS. Shouldn't you be dripping wild boar juice on your shirt right about now? I hear German beer is a great detergent.

The cougar population is out of control and until management allows hunters the tools they need and ranchers the ability to defend their livestock the problem will only get worse.

Ranchers are not compensated by the State for the thousands of dollars lost each year to the various apex predators that the State is trying to reintroduce.
So until things change, it's all about SSS.

I don't have any problem with plugging a mountain lion on a farmer's property. Or if you're out and one decides to pick on you. Just don't make it a habit or it could look suspicious.

As recently as last May, authorities in Oregon admitted that a cougar attack was possible in the wake of a man being killed by a cougar in Washington state.
