SAGINAW TOWNSHIP, MI — Janan Khalek lives in Lebanon but hopes her family can leave the unstable country and return to her hometown of Saginaw Township one day.
For now, though, her dream is a nightmare. That's because U.S. officials have labeled her Lebanese husband a terrorist. Though the government hasn't said why, it's likely due in part to his involvement in an accidental shooting that killed a Lebanese soldier outside an army checkpoint. Her husband served two months in jail before his name was cleared, his wife said.
Khalek, a Heritage High School and Delta College graduate, and her father, Salloum Hamd, are fighting to clear the name of her husband, Rami Khalek. Hamd owns Suits and Alterations on the Saginaw's West Side.http://www.mlive.com/news/saginaw/index....cused.html
