Iran has launched airstrikes against Islamic State militants in eastern Iraq in recent days, the Pentagon confirms. According to spokesperson Rear Adm. John Kirby, the strikes were not co-ordinated with the US military and may be the first of their kind.

"We have indications that they did indeed fly airstrikes with F-4 Phantoms in the past several days," Kirby told AFP.

....

A senior Iranian official, who spoke to Reuters on condition of anonymity, has denied reports on the recent airstrikes against IS targets in Iraq.

This is a new twist.

Quote:They described a future deal as inevitable, citing various factors: a closing of the gaps in each side’s demands; the fact that top U.S. and Iranian diplomats are meeting publicly, a sea change in the long-acrimonious relations; and common interests in the volatile region, including the battle against Islamic State extremists in Iraq and Syria.

Perhaps this is Iran's way of showing their true colors and their intentions of how they will or will not be using nuclear weapons.

The IAEA has said repeatedly Iran has no weapons program. They are signatory to the NPA and have complied with inspections. The only place Iran has nukes is in the MSM.

Then why is the U.S. so interested in pursuing talks with them, if they are of no consequence?

They aren't of no consequence because they don't have a central bank. Remember the five countries that didn't have a CB back in 2001? They were N Korea, Iraq, Iran, Lybia and Syria.

So, is all this propaganda to further degrade ISIS?

ISIS is a CIA asset first created to combat the Soviets in Afghanistan. Back then it was called the Taliban. It evolved into Al Queda which gave the US excuse to go into Iraq, Libya, Pakistan, Yemen and Nigeria (probably more). It has now evolved into ISIS which gives the excuse to attack Syria. All oil rich countries that have made moves away from the petro-dollar.

Basically, the history and reason for the rise of such groups struck a cord of truth for me.
