Because yesterdays local news said we would be able to see an amazing cosmic display...

So last night I stood outside in darkness beneath a clear sky in a remote location and looked up for about an hour...

And I saw nothing...

Not even one damn meteor or meteorite or meteoroid or whatever they're called...

Meaning I usually see more shooting stars during any given night when there isnt even any meteor shower being media advertised...

Whats up with that?!

Bad luck? dunno.gif

We have clear skies for once but it's not quite dark yet and I'm not going to be able to stay awake until it gets dark enough to see any stars. gaah.gif

Quote:Peak activity for the Perseids is unfortunately predicted for the daylight hours across North America, so stargazers with clear skies are encouraged to seek out the meteor display during the pre-dawn hours of Monday and again during the early morning hours of Tuesday (Aug. 13).

Am I mixing up my days, or will North Americans be able to view this spectacle pre-dawn in a few hours?

I don't know, isn't it supposed to peak around Aug. 12 - 13? I didn't see anything last night, the sky was too bright. tissueguy.gif
