Quote:Comedian Phyllis Diller -- who paved the way for today's female comics -- died this morning, TMZ has learned.

Sources close to Diller tell us the comedian died in her sleep at her L.A. home, surrounded by family. She was 95.

I met her as a kid, she was friends with out next door neighbor. Nice lady in person, my next door neighbor Virginia and her went to acting school together. RIP Phyllis, you made a lot of people laugh through the years.

Never heard of her but 95 is a respectable age when you sign out.

Why was her family surrounding her while she slept?

And the funny lady makes three...

1) Bob Birch - Elton John and Billy Joel bassist
2)Tony Scott - Director -Top Gun, Crimson Tide, Days of Thunder
3) Phyllis Diller

What politics from both sides wants to teach us is that things are never complex. If you have your little package and something doesn't fit into that package, You don't know what to make of it so you want to dismiss it or then you will have to do the work of reconsidering your assumptions. - Michael Malice

RIP Miss Diller

The Tony Scott suicide is so sad. I'm a huge fan of his films. I read that his brother died in 1980 of inoprable-brain-cancer, seeing one's brother died. I guess he didn't want to go the same way. Very very Sad.

She sure was a unique character. A few of her jokes:

Never go to bed angry, stay up and fight it out.

You know you are old when your back goes out more than you do.

Craig Harvey, a chief for the coroner's office, said Scott's family denied media reports about brain cancer.

"The family told us it is incorrect that he has inoperable brain cancer," Harvey said.
