Quote:Physicists have devised a new experiment to test if the universe is a computer.

We previously reported that researchers at the University of Bonn in Germany had found evidence the Matrix was less than fiction. That story was by far our most popular of the year - indicating it's something about which you lot have wondered too.

Now another team have devised an actual test to see if this theory holds any hope of being proven.

Proof that this is all a simulation would certainly shatter the paradigm of everything. If found true, beyond a shadow of doubt; a lot of people will not believe it.
That's a certainty.

That's what I was gonna say. When we find out it is a simulation being here will be pointless. They will reboot us for sure.

I am not your rolling wheels, I am the highway
I am not your carpet ride I am the sky
I am not your blowing wind, I am the lightning
I am not your autumn moon, I am the night

if it were a computer simulation we will never be given the truhful answer cause the computer would know we are asking and then give the answer so either way it's the toilet paper to the toilet bowl brush thingy on who has the shitiest job. nobody will really know

the only way to know the truth is when we die i guess

Beware of the booger eater he'snot full uhoh.gif

Or...if we are just part of a program, upon death would we would simply be sent to the recycle bin and deleted.
Of what further use are we? I used to work a a retired land surveyor that used to say "hell, I don't care if there's an error, in a hundred years nobody will give a damn, let alone remember me." chuckle.gif

Great stuff, I'd recommend it.

Knew you guys would like it! Almost mentioned it was on netflix too! :)

...however it begs the question of whether all reality is "computer" generated? and what constitutes a "computer"? If it is all a generated hologram then does that not make the illusion itself the reality? Could we be part of that "computer" that generates the very matter around us? ...not just a manifestation of it? ...but rather an expression that is a functional piece of this "machine"? ...this host "mother" whose "body" we live in and are a part of. This great "woven" Maa't that is the universe pattern ...once you get past the galactic cluster scale you find the organization of structure to be very like a fibrous network analogous to fungal mycelium.

...or a neural pathways.

The universe itself is a computer...

Some might even call it "God" ;)

We might not even be real.

If the great reboot comes in 6 days we might just disappear.

That would probably be the best thing that ever happened to this planet tho.
