I was on the PC which faces out the front window. Two cop cars came flying into my driveway. I was like WTF.

Jumped out and started banging on my front door.

I opened the door and they ask about a Iphone.

Three days ago my son was walking home from school and found a Iphone. The battery was dead and there was no way for us to charge it to see who it belonged to.

So we have been asking around at the Local store to see if anyone lost it.

It seems Verizon Tracked the phone to my house and called the Police.

Even with a Dead battery.

I gave the cops the phone and explained the situation, they filled out a police report and left.

Rude awakening.

This proves they can track you anywhere while your Phone is OFF.

The less to do with the babylon the better.

Must have been one important phone.

My old Nokia still holding out, but I am preparing
for phoneless life, since I'm not going to replace
it when it dies.

Yeah, seems like police behaviour has changed
worldwide.

Rude awakening for sure.
Can't say I envy you at all, man.

Yeah well in this lunatic infringed fallen world of morons and psychopaths and mental defectives and rapists and arsonists and car jackers and gangsters and serial killers and child molesters and bank robbers and terrorists,it sure is comforting and relaxing to know that our friendly neighborhood to serve and protect, to screw and upset, tax paid police usually spend most of their time driving around their brand new customized cruisers pulling over as many hard working people as possible for insignificant traffic infractions in order to railroad them for as much legally extorted cash as possible and when they're not openly practicing that legalized injustice they're just sitting around the station laughing and joking and cleaning their deadly weapons and caressing all their confiscated dope, while guzzling free coffee and munching free donuts that the pretty caffeine watering hole counter girls are told to give them, while waiting for their rat fink informants to phone in vital tips that the cops turn around and act and talk like they found out the vital information and so these create their own work police over reacting and flipping out over a gawd damn cell phone doesnt mutha f###en surprise me at all in the slightest whatsoever...

Worse part is I let them in without thinking.

Cop looked right at my Shotgun propped up behind the front door, but never said a word.

I wonder by what means Verizon tracks cell phone location?

Built in potential to track location regardless of batteries physical state sounds like sci-fi, not to mention there are some inherent privacy and security risks involved.

Good question I thought if the battery was dead it was impossible. We learn something new everyday of just how dubious these devices are.

And they cant find the Malaysian Airplane?

Hmmmmm

I'm thinking this had to be someone importants phone to go thru all this.

Maybe another Cop?

I was also under the impression they could only triangulate on a phone if it was pinging a tower for a connection.

If they can remotely power up your phone and watch you through the camera then I'm pretty sure they can track it.

They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to poor
