This book was given to me in Amsterdam. I was looking forward to reading it. Here's a paragraph:

Quote:Societal interpretation of such writings and doctrinaire declarations breaks down into main trifurcations, engendering divisivness and conflict. The first branch is the path of aversion, based on rejction of the contents of the work due to personal motivications, differing convictions or moral revulsion. These reactions contain the component of a moralistic interpretation of pathological phenomena.

It gets no better. The author claims the original manuscript went into the furnace moments before the Stasi invaded Poland. A second copy was sent to the Vatican and likewise was sent into the fire. Impossible conditions of violence and repression blah blah. Brzezinski threw it into the fire :oogabooga:

A stupendous exercise in odious tedious pedantry. I really don't need obfuscation and a thesaurus to enlighten me about the evils and psychopathy of the POO. Galbraith was enough coffeetime.gif

firestarter.

Some awfully fancy words, many of which I don't comprehend. blink.gif
I hate it when authors make a book more about their dubious grasp of obscure linguistic terms than the subject they were supposed to be enlightening the reader about in the first place. 15.gif
I've tried reading a couple like that, and it just seemed so pompous on their part, while at the same time, making me feel like an idiot for not knowing all these off the wall terms, that I never got very far into them.
One should not have to have a dictionary in order to read a book.

When I first saw this title, I thought it said "Political pr0n0graphy."

I can't tell you how relieved I am that this wasn't the case.

I once knew a man from the campus
He was unbearably pompous
With words so obscure
he piled the manure
so high it was truly noxious
