doesn't matter if it's some cheap supermarket wine or some wine you only get at the wine merchant - if you personally tasted it and think it's delicious post it here. i'll probably try it.

someone once recommended me a cheap yellow tail chardonnay. i tried it. it tasted horrible. i won't buy this shit again.

Anything red and organic without sulphites. They make me twitch and induce migraines. The majority of it is salad dressing for me.

The pinot noir I bought at St Hubertus winery in Kelowna on Monday. I'm no fond of reds much but that ... yeah!

That totally depends on what you plan on having with it. I had some horribly dry red wine, I think it was a Cabernet sauvignon that went so incredible well with my cauliflower soup. If I just drink without eating I'd rather go with beer.

I do like a sweet dessert wine though, my favorites being patras moscatel, marsala and the BC ice wine was pretty damn awesome too. beercheer.gif

iagree.gif My sil gave me bottles of blackberry and apricot desert wines. Bless her.

That ice wine was pretty good eh? beercheer.gif was it the Quail's Gate? That winery is in the Okanagan too.

You need to make that dill pickle soup. It sounds absurd but it really is addictive. Chardonay would go well with 13.gif

It's just a potato soup with dill and sliced dill pickles. I put a tbsp of flour into a cup of sour cream and that made it more a chowder than soup. You can add whatever you like, i used diced potatoes, celery, corn, sour cream, thin sliced carrots, about 1/4 cup dill and 2 fine sliced dill pickles. I thought I put too much dill in, but the more you eat, the more the dill is not enough lol.

i bought 3 wines today. all chardonnay. each bottle about €10/$13 - so they are affordable.

opened the first one:

kwv chardonnay 2008 reserve.
http://www.wine.co.za/directory/wine.aspx?WINEID=18491

smells pretty good. tastes not bad. i would buy it again. good cost-performance ratio. :P
recommendable.

i really like white wine. chardonnay müller-thurgau (half dry ) and bacchus (half dry) are my favorites (i know that müller-thurgau and bacchus have a bad reputation^^).
what i like about the chardonnay most is it's aftertaste. tastes like vanilla or something.
müller-thurgau because of it's grape taste combined with the taste of riesling. light and really refreshing.

I remember when I visited Hungary back in 88 they served all meals at restaurants with Spritzers as table water. Or Kisfröccs as it's called there. They just asked Fehér or Vörös, white or red. chuckle.gif I liked that. Awesome country and their food needs a thread of its own. omg. drool.gif
