There is a part on the vid where if it rained for an entire day, the sod house would drip for three days. damned.gif

I like art that is weird and wacky.

Quote:

“This is the one that started it all. I actually started out not having it in a suitcase. I was thinking of what I was going to do and I said to my husband, ‘if we had a thing – because it’s going to travel so far away – but folded up, it would go better.’ It needed depth too, and then I thought, ‘wait a minute! That’s like a suitcase.”

Textile art is one of my favorite mediums. Every time I'm at the bookstore I head right for the textile arts magazines and can happily be engaged for hours. This is definitely an artform I will have to explore when I am free from the shackles of work.

The artist thought of putting her art in a suitcase because she needed the art to travel with her for different exhibitions...mother of invention and all that.

It certainly opens up the gates of creativity when thinking of other objects that may house art...old refrigerators? old stoves? vintage TV's....wacky.

Windows? Not paint right over them so the sunlight doesn't get in, but one could get creative with them. My sister used to have door decorating contests at the office she worked at a while back, they had a lot of fun with that.

That's a coinkidink. I was antiquing yesterday and saw an old wooden door with pics on the different panels. I think maybe the artist found old wallpaper, cut it to fit the panels, and did a sort of patchwork quilt effect. I liked it very much.

I think using old wooden doors as headboard could be a viable business option, if you have a good eye and like power tools, which I do. All the power tools in our home were purchased by me and taken over by all the men. wtf2.gif
