Is it because they think it's shingles and it will just run its course?

I think it's more to do with my refusing that second Chemo than anything else to be honest with you.

I think you're right about that. Unfortunately. I hope you get it sorted out soon. I'm so glad there are knowledgeable people around here to help.

Good morning Octo. wave.gif hug.gif

This is now driving me crazy after that attitude last night! I will be seriously looking into making a major complaint about this.

Life is like a penny, you can spend it on what you like, but you can ONLY spend it once.

I suggest you use your energy on healing and complain later, if possible.

Yeah I guess at the end of the day you are right. Thanks for the advice.

This is right in some ways, you have been doing great so far.

The problem is... this will not make the doctors move their butts in the right direction, not the least, and they are very much needed to figure out why the swelling, rash and atrocious pain.

See my last post.

I am not happy at all seeing them leaving you in this condition.

I hope you had a good breakfast and you will have a nice healthy lunch.

Unfortunately I have had no appetite for a few days now due to the pain I have been suffering from my leg and foot!

Hey mate, Sorry to hear about the trouble again. I think you are right in thinking that since you refused the 2nd chemo, they are more reluctant to do anything. Normally I can't believe that, but why else would they not do anything about this.

Please try to put energy in keeping your mind on the fact that you have already come a long way. This too will pass bud. Go from there.

Sending you all postive thoughts across the North Sea

I think that's evil! Don't they sign the Hippocratic Oath these days??
Octo is right, to heal you need all your energy, and though if you were strong and well, I am sure you *would* storm around, you cannot afford to expend your energy reserves in complaining. It's a shame you got stuck with *that* hospital (and I think you should start naming them in your twitter posts! Let other people see what they're like!), but as we found a couple of weeks ago, getting transferred is like mission impossible.
Please have a look at my post on the previous page, about diet for low sodium! Eg, don't drink too much water, avoid potassium-rich foods, etc. I hope you can eat when the pain lessens.
I thought they were monitoring you with visits twice a day by a nurse, to check your sodium levels? Is that still happening, do the nurses still come round? Please tell me they haven't stopped that too, or I'll be getting onto your MP!!

The nurse still visits to take the blood samples and check the blood pressure etc. But she does not say a great deal just gets on with it and off she goes.

Right .... And I suppose if you say anything, she says: 'You'll have to ask your doctor about that, Nigel, I can't do anything.'
I'm failing to see any level of human CARE, in all this.
It looks like you're on your own, medically speaking: as you won't take the toxic chemicals that are all that's on offer (even though they admit that chemotherapy can't cure this type of cancer, only slow it a bit, at the cost of great suffering!), then they've decided, 'Fine then, you're on your own, mate. Here's some painkillers, otherwise we're not going to do a thing.'

Well, that simplifies things. Is now up to God, and what treatment you can give yourself.
You seem to be being used here, and I mean used in a good way, first to expose to many what GLP is really like, and now to expose what this health 'care' system is really like.

Well it seems like there may be some delay in my plans to go to Canada/ If that happens I plan to take a weeks rest at a specially built and run hotel for cancer patients on the South Coast f England. It is the only one in the Country and what I have heard it is very well run. This is the link to the hotel for you to have a look at it..

What a brilliant idea!! I must have been reading your mind or something, I was thinking earlier, if only you could get away for a bit, get some fresh sea air, but be looked after. And you've actually found such a place, I didn't know it existed! It sounds great, and Bournemouth is lovely. (Went there by coach once, from Victoria, never again, we were aching at the end of it, it took so long, I'd get the train now).
I see they've even got a fleet of mobility scooters, and the place looks wonderful. How you gonna get there, though?

I shall take the train as I have a disabled person's railcard. There it will be like the care of Macmillan as all the female staff that work there are full qualified by MacMillan and so are nurses as well as domestic staff/reception etc.

Well it's not yet sure in my mind but I am leaning toward this idea. I shall call my MacMillan nurse later today and see what she thinks.

Have a good day everyone.
