you pay room and board, when you choice a place, like a motel or hotel , or house... where they are at ... isnt of choice.
If they have any penalty for crimes.. have tracking braclets put on people, where they cant leave town, and it gets rid of the taxes spent on prisons. durrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Well, recently, I watched a documentary on one men's security prison where they had a voluntary military-like program there, much like a marine boot camp, where the inmates were continuously drilled by guards and if they followed orders to a tee, then they would be rewarded and ascend in rank as well as what seemed to me an accomplishment of something akin to a mastering of their ego weaknesses, perhaps anger control, perhaps submission turning into choice...it was a complex therapeutic group exercise and more than one prisoner dropped out. I'm not a psychiatric guru, but that was my impression. The prisoners that took it to the end game, so to speak, were praised highly by the guards and other prisoners, and they genuinely seemed proud of themselves. I have not studied prison rehabilitation programs, but after seeing this one, I'm guessing they offer different types of programs for women prisoners too.

anything to get out of a cage
work program, yeah, i'd grab at it

you get out of the cell and move around a little

they call it stir

yeah
stir is what happens
and stir crazy is the result

i'd give them lots of work
and training

rehab yes, but
not spiritual death by cage.

I think these people in jail need psychiatric help the most. How many mentally ill people do you suppose are stirring in stir?
