One thing I learned is that kefir grains absolutely do not like being crowded. The first several batches I made smelled like bad fruit. It was kinda like a cheap home made hooch. After some reading I found out that I needed fewer grains in a jar. I started with about 1 cup of grains in a two quart jar. LilScrappy and I started new batches last night and I already have six jars with about 1 1/4 cup of grains in each jar! My babies is happy! The kefir now smells like the fruit I used to make it! These were made with pineapple and the kefir tastes like pineapple soda!
What politics from both sides wants to teach us is that things are never complex. If you have your little package and something doesn't fit into that package, You don't know what to make of it so you want to dismiss it or then you will have to do the work of reconsidering your assumptions. - Michael Malice
