"Since energy can neither be created or destroyed, it can only be changed or transformed, it's scientifically probable that our souls move to another vessel upon our death."

“Our lives are not our own. From womb to tomb, we are bound to others, past and present, and by each crime and every kindness, we birth our future.” ― David Mitchell

I was reading a poem a few days back about being buried in the ground and then after time our remains become part of new life, such as grass or a tree. So, if all is energy then our remains remain a form of energy that transforms and can be used by other life.

I hope not. I don't want to come back under any circumstances. Trapped in a physical container and then you die. joy.

I'm sure our bodies can become part of a tree, but I'm not so sure about our souls. It's maybe possible for someone to put a hex on a spirit and bind it to a tree so it can't escape, but I'm just speculating.

Perhaps we have different types of energy - the physical and the spirit and each follows universal laws after death.

maybe we don't have a "soul" or a "spirit".

That's basically all you have to do, except my cord was golden and any time you want to return to your body, just will it to happen.

I read several books on it, and practiced the techniques as I was relaxing and going to sleep.
The one and only time it actually happened, I became afraid that if I went to far I might not be able to get back. It happened in that elusive alpha state - between asleep and awake, and yes...
there is a tether. What I saw looked somewhat energetic with a whitish yellow luminance. It didn't last long, but it was truly strange.
I can't completely eliminate the possibility I was dreaming, but that seemed more real than "reality" if that makes any sense.

I definitely was not dreaming, because it happened during waking(?) meditation and when I ventured way above the Earth, that's when I was both awestruck and terrified, so I willed myself to return, which I did instantaneously.
