It's a real shitty situation for Finland. A lot of companies rely on Russian business and tourists and the weak ruble is keeping the Russians from spending, at least here. It's a quite hefty investment for a small company to integrate the Russian credit system. It's looking pretty bleak. sad2.gif

:) Octo, don't peer into the darkness of the small details, take a look into the bigger picture and the small details shall become clearer. Finland has gone through Russian market crash (OK - USSR) once (in 1992-94) and was very painful. IMO Finland's destiny is to be buffer zone btwn west and east (to suck milk from two cows so to say). Rossia's market is huge. HUGE! And it's up to Finland to take part of it (together with Estonia). If there is real good politicians in Finland (as was in the past; excluding Esko Aho of course), Finland could be a mediator btwn EU and the russian bear. And profit a lot of this.
Russians have a synonym for the word quality - it is "Made in Finland". Not GB, Germany, or EU - Finland. So, don't worry - all that problems are temporary. Be optimist in the future that follow today.

Yes you spelled that right chuckle.gif It's not the first time I've seen a suggestion to return to the Markka. It's hard to tell how that would work out though. Not that it's going to happen anytime soon.

Oh and I'm an optimist, but also a realist. I have no problems looking at the big picture, but that's little comfort to businesses trying to survive. Finland barely recovered from the depression early 90s when the new downturn hit. And starting up new business with or in Russia is not the easiest task, it takes money and years of preparations.

Sure, Finland should be a mediator between Russia and EU, but I'm afraid the EU aren't too interested in neighborly relations. 13.gif

Quote:Finland’s President Sauli Niinistö says he has met varying degrees of acceptance for Finland’s stance on bilateral ties with Russia. The European Union has asked governments to suspend meetings with Russian leaders, but Finland says there is room for interpretation on that.

Russia and especially the (relatively soon to be born again U.S.S.R?!) is a vast country (the Siberian Taiga forest is about 5 times the size of Texas!) of immense proportions comprising over 185! recognized ethnic groups living upon about 12% of earths land mass as compared to the immense United States recognized 6 ethnic groups living upon about 7% of the earths land mass and so its really no wonder why Russia is always within some level of destabilization and unfortunately only iron fisted force is capable of keeping all those different types and cultures of people together in any sort of manageable way...

Distraction at it's finest.

When she got to how humans are 'tasty' I politely but ungracefully left the conversation and just listened to the rest. She contradicted herself here and there too. With the Vatican for ie, said they control and are behind everything, then 5 minutes later said "No that's not how it is". Her monetary policy sucks too, for a banker she should know better.

Russia's been buying gold 181 tonnes last year. A gold backed currency would be an attractive place to put one's money.

hug.gif Hej Shadow! She is someone I've been meaning to discuss, it's been gnawing at me for sometime because it sounds so phony. She's a raised some red flags for me in the believability department, and quite frankly, I see disinfo.

Hej JR hug.gif I'd watched the vid you posted above and was excited to see she was a guest on my economics forum radio show. She's a little batty and talks too fast and too much and you don't really get to ask questions without interrupting her which is impolite on both sides. She shared A LOT of info some of which doesn't bear up under scrutiny by someone who understands economics. I found that odd.

She is PROGRAMMED to be contradictory .

There are a few who are not , but those are mostly dead .

There are even fewer who were programmed and cured it .

getting clarity out of a programmed disinfo , is seldom seen .

for , just as their mind begins to grasp a clear concise thought ,

the trigger kicks in and scrambles the thoughts .

all of this I have experienced first hand , and recalled exactly how i was
programmed .

it was that recollection , that allowed for most of my ability to unscramble what was done .

On Gold :

Understand that Policies , are a Global Tribunal Concerted effort .

Nothing is ever instituted without the consent of a majority of members .

Gold is the common species , by consensual contract of Global money managers .

It is so , by it's everlasting durability , in 1933 , it was taken out of the hands of
the common people , and control of gold was then given to the CEO's .

To state that Russia is planning anything without the Global Corporate
management team's consent ,,,

is just too silly to think about .

The World is a Corporation run by CEO's

not leaders of people , with the peoples best interest at heart .

Question for you CA.

There's some speculation running around that gold is more than a store of wealth and hedge against inflation. Some are wondering what other properties it has. ??

Agreed. I could not say it better. Yes, the World is Co and nothing happen just out of the blue.

For the gold.
Everything vibrate and have own resonance. If we think of duality then gold is masculine and silver - feminine. Thinkin' about human health - colloidal silver and gold improve tremendously health and restore human vibration rate. So, there is somethin' mystical about gold (and silver as well). Which can't be said about platinum.

The biggest U.S. bank thwarted a remittance from the Russian embassy in Astana, Kazakhstan, to Sogaz Insurance Group “under the pretext of anti-Russian sanctions imposed by the United States,” the ministry said yesterday in a statement on its website. Sogaz lists OAO Bank Rossiya, a St. Petersburg-based lender facing U.S. sanctions over the Ukrainian crisis, as a strategic partner on its website.

Is this why?

International Law 101: Don't ğck with embassies!
This move by JPM could be interpreted as an act of war.
